Mediation and Conflict Resolution Education
Peter mediates conflicts and disputes in a variety of subject areas including business, construction, divorce, family, education, employment, land use, and real estate. He is also contracted with the Vermont Department of Education to mediate special education conflicts, and with the Vermont Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Unit to mediate employment discrimination cases.
Peter offers seminars in conflict resolution skills for individuals, educators, and business professionals and others. His lively workshops teach participants how to effectively approach, communicate through, and problem solve conflict and difference at work, at home and otherwise out in the world. Peter is an adjunct faculty member at Bennington College teaching mediation, litigation and conflict resolution skills. He also directs the Bennington College Mediation Clinic which provides free public access to professional mediation services where cost is a barrier to participation.
Peter's mediation education includes specialized training in mediating divorce, special education and employment discrimination matters. He takes part in continuing education annually.
Peter is a member of the Vermont Superior and Environmental Court mediator panels. He is also a member of the Vermont and Bennington County Bar Associations and the Association for Conflict Resolution.
Peter established PDR fourteen years ago. He previously practiced law in Vermont and New York, including service as an assistant district attorney in Westchester County. Peter is a graduate of Lafayette College and Boston College Law School. He served for many years on the Londonderry, Vermont Planning Commission and Select Board. He is currently the chair of the Londonderry Policing Committee.
